Early Literacy Practices at Work: Play

Each day this week will feature one of the five practices of early literacy outlined by Every Child Ready to Read: sing, talk, read, write, and play. The following libraries received Growing Wisconsin Reader mini-grants to enrich their library's early literacy offerings.

Baskets of educational toys encourage sorting, stacking, and storytelling at Tomahawk Public Library.
Children can interact with puppets and their showtime audience at Sun Prairie Public Library.
A play kitchen and props inspire culinary creativity through Dane County Library Service.
On-the-go learning props are available at the Lakeview Community Library in Random Lake.
