Early Literacy Practices at Work: Talk

Each day this week will feature one of the five practices of early literacy outlined by Every Child Ready to Read: sing, talk, read, write, and play. The following libraries received Growing Wisconsin Reader mini-grants to enrich their library's early literacy offerings.

Realistic animal props inspire narrative storytelling at Spooner Public Library.

Puppet play offers opportunities for verbal exchanges at Black River Falls Public Library.
Play kits generate conversations between children and caregivers at Ontario Public Library.
