Is Your Picture Book Collection Missing Something?

Everyone knows to look no further than the Caldecott for picture books with distinguished illustrations.  But what about distinguished picture book text?

The Charlotte Zolotow Award is given annually to the author of the best picture book text published in the United States in the preceding year. Up to five honor books and up to ten highly commended titles may also be named each year. The award is administered by the Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC), a children's literature library of the School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
